"In my paintings the human figure or the body becomes a landscape. My work focuses on the subject of relationships, the mysterious human condition, a searching for meaning in the world and a shared sense of isolation. The work hints at narrative but is left intentionally elusive. The viewer has to fill in the blanks"
Born in Vernon, Connecticut, Hilary earned her MFA in painting at New York Academy of Art in Manhattan and studied additionally at The University of Hartford Art School, Richmond College UK, Rhode Island School of Design and the The Art Students League of New York. She has studied with Vincent Disiderio, Eric Fischl and Jenny Saville as well as worked as an artist's assistant to Jeff Koons. To date, she's had seventeen exhibitions including the recent Brooklyn Waterfront Artist Coalition and Take Home A Nude at Phillips de Pury in Manhattan and was artist in resident at The Vermont Studio Center. She currently works and resides in New York City.
